Julie Olson, LCCE, CD(DONA)
Julie is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, DONA Certified Birth Doula, owner of Wellspring Childbirth and Co-Founder of Plumtree Baby, LLC. She is dedicated to providing expectant couples with the knowledge, confidence and patience needed to have a joyful birth and transition to parenthood.
Her passion for childbirth education began long ago. From a very young age,she was interested in pregnancy and birth, but for many years her career took her in another direction. In 2004, Julie and her husband became pregnant with their first child and she set about learning all that she could about pregnancy and birth. Julie and her husband took a Bradley Method® course and loved the education they received from the class. Their new-found knowledge helped them to have a natural, hospital birth with a midwife.
Julie's first birth experience was transformative and empowering and it inspired her to help other women have the same education and preparation for their births. She became a Bradley Method® instructor and taught from 2005 to 2010. Her experiences over those 5 years spurred her to develop her own modern, evidence-based Natural Childbirth curriculum and to become certified with Lamaze International. In 2011 she published her own booklets for Childbirth education through the company she co-founded with her business partner, Michelle Kettleborough. Julie is also a DONA Certified Birth Doula and works as a part of the Belly Bliss Doula Group Julie is honored to have served as an educator or doula to over 200 couples thus far.
